Tradition
At the end of the 1920s, the recipe for the nougat, which remains successful to this day, was invented and production began. At that time, Kondimafabrik AG was the first and only large-scale raw paste manufacturer in Southern Germany.

As a medium-sized manufacturer of marzipan and praline (nougat) pastes, couvertures, and other high-quality semi-finished products for the confectionery trade and the sweets industry, it is in our nature to provide our customers with the best possible quality as a reliable partner – and we have been doing so for 100 years.
OUR HISTORY
1923
In March 1923, food hygienist and physician Dr. med. Leopold Engelhardt (1885-1972) founded Kondimafabrik AG in Karlsruhe. He deliberately stepped out of his father’s footsteps, who had become known for a tobacco manufactory. His son did not want to produce cigarettes, but “something healthy.”
1985
In 1985, Thomas Engelhardt joined the company, which he now leads in its 3rd generation under the name Kondima Engelhardt GmbH & Co KG.
2009
Since 2009, Philipp Marggraf has successfully continued the tradition of the family business Kondima Engelhardt GmbH & Co KG in its 4th generation, always true to the promise: Kondima – Quality all around.
OUR CRAFTSMANSHIP
At the end of the day, taste, finesse, and the haptic experience determine the success of a food product. This is especially true for products that are primarily meant to taste great. It is precisely this extra touch of outstanding taste and excellent quality that we guarantee and deliver with our semi-finished products. We like to refer to them as "building blocks" for our customers' success.
Whether for traditional products or innovations like vegan chocolates: the basis for this is our expertise, which has grown over an entire century, allowing us to reliably extract the optimal taste from raw materials with unsurpassed consistency.
Even as we produce using increasingly sophisticated technology, we have always understood our work as a craft. We are close to the raw materials, close to our products. In the production of a semi-finished product, understanding all the raw materials used and their specific properties is indispensable.
We not only know and value our raw materials, but also understand the methods and processes of their processing. We know which levers to pull to ensure our products can be optimally integrated into our customers' production processes – only then can the perfect taste emerge.
And because tastes, ingredients, and requirements in the confectionery industry are changing ever more rapidly, we are the innovation partner that helps our customers maintain that crucial taste advantage, even under these circumstances.
OUR CERTIFICATES
Our products are continuously reviewed internally and externally according to fixed standards of the food industry to ensure their safety and quality. All our products possess Halal and Kosher certification. Some of our products are also organic-certified. We are happy to provide you with our current certifications upon request.
